      An excellent introduction to the distillery style. Glenfarclas means Glen of the Green Grassland, and the freshness on the nose reminds me of grassland in spring. So, for me, this is the farclas aroma. In 2006 this was named the Best Sherried Whiskey in the Single Malt World Cup. More recently Glenfarclas 12 Years Old won Gold at the 2007 Stockholm Beer & Whiskey Festival.

      An excellent introduction to the distillery style. Glenfarclas means Glen of the Green Grassland, and the freshness on the nose reminds me of grassland in spring.       A whisky that only shows light flavors from the finishing in Sherry butts. Not much else going on that makes it stand out from other Scotches, making it overpriced for what it is. If this was $30-$40, it would be something to take a bottle home to try. At $62, this is a whisky you should pass on even if you’re just getting into Scotch.
